Jack Payne und sein Orchester – One Hour With You, Foxtrot a.d. Chevalier’s Film “One Hour With You” (Whiting Robin) mit englischem Refrain, Kristall Electro 1930 (recorded in London; German product) NOTE: Jack Payne’s was one of the best dance orchestras in UK during the British Dance Band Era. Born in 1899 in 1899 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England, Jack Payne served as an aviator in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I. Was director of Dance Music for the BBC, 1928 to 1932 and 1941 to 1946. Led several successful dance bands during the 1920s and 30s, their complement varying from 6 to 20 musicians. They were showcased on radio and in British films ( Say It with Music 1932) Paynes tag line was "Pleasure Without Payne". His was the first band to entertain troops in France in 1939. During the 1950s and 60s, Payne worked for the BBC as a disc jockey. He died in 1969 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.
