Tracy-Brown’s Orchestra with Vocal chorus by Sam Coslow – Chloe. Song of the Swamp, Fox Trot (Moret & Kahn), Columbia 1928 (USA)

NOTE: A year ago I uploaded side A of this unusual record and I promised I’d upload soon also the flip side – and here it is. I also repeat now part of the info about this band: Tray-Brown’s Orchestra is a little known Chicago dance band of the American Roaring Twenties. One of the You Tubers wrote 5 years ago, the founder of this band was his (or her?) Great Uncle named Nelson Brown, unfortunately he added no more so we still do not know much about that talented bandleader. Our YT friend Victrola Jazz uploaded in his channel another little known recording of that orchestra

Chloe was a somewhat spooky popular tune in the 1920s and its memory has remained to this day, as one of the peculiarities among the dance hits of the Roaring Twenties. Its “swampy” title provoked me ofcourse, to compose the slideshow from the most picturesque views of the swamps and marshes of North Carolina as well as Bayou area in Louisiana.

Curtis... Who is “Tracy” in Tracy-Brown’s Orchestra? “Jazz Records” by Brian Rust shows a Nelson Brown on alto sax but no mention of anyone named Tracy....
Luis M... A fine arrangement to this dramatic and very appealing song of lost lovers. I thought the same about Coslow singing. Thanks!
franka ... Dziki blues na bagnach Amazonki.????..Magiczne sceny...A więc trza wierzyć w czarownice:-)
Victrol... I've always thought this was a creepy song about someone getting lost in the swamp, but this is a superb arrangement. Spike Jones made an hilarious spoof of it in the early 40's.
cucurru... What a wonderful wonderful post indeed, ))
Andre N... C est magnifique
?????? ... "Спасибо!" - Гжегож. Хорошего вам дня и вечера.
Oliver ... Bardzo przyjemny bluesowy utworek :) Dzięki! Pozdrawiam serdecznie i życzę miłego weekendu! :)
